About Us
Golden Acre Kennels was established in 2001 by local animal lover Lisa Block. What started as a small passion project has grown into a full-service kennel, pet day care and so much more. Our goal was for Golden Acre Kennels to be a family operated business. We are happy to announce that our daughter, Sam is working with us full-time and will be taking over the kennel in the near future.
Our owners live on the premises, so they are always close to your pet. Your pet will have plenty of room to play, eat and sleep in our top-notch facility. Bonus: we are animal obsessed and pretty friendly, if we do say so ourselves. Come in for a tour and say hello!

Lisa Block, Owner
Lisa has owned and operated Golden Acre Kennels for 20+ years. Prior to opening her business, Lisa worked as a Veterinary Assistant where she gained extensive knowledge of dogs. Over the years Lisa has had the opportunity to meet and care for thousands of dogs and looks forward to meeting yours soon.

Sam Carlson, Manager
Sam earned her Veterinary Technician degree from UW Madison and is currently working on a certificate in canine nutrition from the Academy of Natural Health Sciences. She has been involved in Golden Acre Kennels since day one. As Lisa’s oldest daughter, Sam is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Golden Acre Kennels and will take over the family business in the future. To Sam, each day never feels like “work” since animals are her true passion.

TJ Carlson
TJ has grown up with dogs his whole life. As the oldest of Lisa’s 4 children, he has been surrounded by the care for dogs and other animals longer than he can remember. That passion has been passed down and our four-legged visitors easily connect with him. Pairing his love of the outdoors and photography, TJ has done several canine photo-shoots to capture the pure joy that fur-babies can bring.
